This is a benefit ride for childhood cancer patient Megan Smith of Sylacauga. Megan is 16 years old and was diagnosed with undifferentiated sarcoma on 4/20/15. In the late fall of that year, she had a very difficult time, and at times, the outcome didn’t look very well. But here we are 2-1/2 years later and she’s still fighting.
However, her kidneys have suffered during the process. She was on dialysis for a long time and just recently found out that they are failing. She just recently (April 11th) went on the kidney transplant list and will begin the testing process in July. Unfortunately, due ti insurance changes beyond their control, the current coverage will fall way short.
This ride is hosted by Rider’s Harley Davidson and When2Ride (Larry Hardeman) and Kimberly Quick. We are in the early stages of planning but as the usual, plan on having live entertainment and food (not including in registration fee) at Rider’s at the end of the ride.
